Exhibited: my book "wandeling", which recreates a walk made in 2005, with 336 photos.
Ann Demeester (art critic and curator, director De Appel Stichting, Amsterdam), writes:
When you browse through a book of 20 x 25cm, and get a feeling that you are actually walking in a forest: this is a signature of Rob van der Nol's work. It is a wondrous combination of concept and experience. He writes himself:
"I registered a walk by taking photographs every seventh step. It is not only a literal walk. i follow a route through my head and my heart, in colours like those used by the first humans to represent their surroundings. Arranging these pictures one after the other creates, as it were, a film of stills with moments-in-between. These empty moments represent the lost memories and the invisible time. The act of browsing through the book serves as a representation of walking through time. The book is a measure of time passing by."
